| Bill O'Reilly, class of 1971, was on campus to accompany his nephew who was applying to Marist. He handled the coin toss at the start of the Saturday football game and then visited the dedication luncheon. Pictured from left to right: Richard Foy '50, Mary Foy, Bill O'Reilly '71, Peter Foy '95, Bridget Foy Pomerantz '98, Jason Pomeranta '98, and Tracy Gibbon. While at Marist O'Reilly played football, studied his third year in England, wrote for the school paper, and displayed his tendency to challenge administrators, coaches, teachers, and fellow students. More than half the time, Bill was right! Upon graduating in 1971, O'Reilly taught at a Marist Brothers school in Opalocka, Florida, Msgr. Pace High School, which serviced Hispanic underprivileged young men, for two years as a Marist Volunteer. He later ventured into the broadcasting field, where his progress is well known.
