Peter Foy migrated to California in 1952, journeying overland with his aunt Cecelia Foy.  They passed through Kansas en route, where Peter met Margaret Riley and several of the Berry family.

Eileen Howitt came to California from Winnipeg, Canada.  Her mother, one brother and one sister also came, leaving some other siblings in Canada.

Sharon Marie Foy was their only child, born July 13, 1960.   She graduated from UC in San Diego, where she met her future husband, John Swanke.  In 2002, the Swanke family, now including children Michael, Erin and Megan, moved to Illinois.
