Family group outside the Foy House |
![]() |
Foys living at Knockatubber were cousins to the Foy family who grew up in Garryedmond. The family included Delia, Tilly and Geraldine Foy, all three of whom came to the United States. Pictured left to right: John's aunt Margaret Costello, John Foy, Father Thomas Morley, Nurse Elly Foy who lived in the house in the background, and Elley Foy Costello, who lived opposite the new house occupied by John and Margaret Foy. The house was originally built for Elley, but she declined to move from her more modest quarters. John handled the farming duties for Elley's property until Elly died, when the land was willed to John.
