Although Peter and Catherine Sherry lived in Yonkers during the later part of their lives, Peter lived in Long Island City in his early years, at least from 1870 through 1892, at which date he moved in with his widowed sister, Kate Kennevan.  This marker gives evidence that he continued his relationship with the Exempt Firemen's Association of Long Island City long after he moved to Yonkers.
