Daniel McKeon joined the Air
Force shortly after December 1941. Poor
eyesight washed him out as a pilot, but he
exhibited excellence in mechanics school — so much
so that he became an instructor and spent the war
years in at Chaaunite Air Field Keesler AFB, Mississippi where he
trained mechanics for the air force. ===>> |

Daniel's daughter, Anna Marie
joined the Air Force after graduation from high
school, and served from April 1969 through August
1971.. She served at Lackland AFB TX,
Lowry AFB CO and finally Loring AFB in
Maine, where she met her future husband, David De
Roche. ===>>

Travis DeRoche, Anna's son and Daniel's grandson, followed the
military tradition by serving in the United States
Marine Corps in March 1988. After training
he was assigned to Marine Corps Air Station,
Iwakuni, Japan and also temp duty at Kadena AFB,
Okinawa, Japan. He completed his
tour of duty in April 2002 and returned to college in
Louisiana, but remains in the Inactive Reserve.. |

Trisha DeRoche's company sponsored a Halloween
party requiring costumes. She wore one of
her grandmother's dresses and went as a flapper.
(My wife thought it would be a great 'mother of
the bride' dress!)
