This Indenture made the thirty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine Between John J Dumont of the town of Esopus in the County of Ulster and State of New York of the first part and Solomon Gidney of the town county and State aforesaid party of the second part Witnesseth that the said part of the first part in consideration of the sum of one dollar to him duly paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever All that piece or parcel of land lying and being in the town of Esopus Ulster County and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at the northeast corner commencing at George T Pierce's north west corner joining the lands of widow Jane Elting's heirs then Southerly to George T Pierces northern corner and joining the lands of Eleazar Gidney thence westerly to a pine tree marked on the southeast corner of Oliver Elmore's land thence northerly to a stake and a heap of stones east of a beach tree marked I. K. T. at Oliver Elmore's corner then along Elmore land southerly to the corner of Cornelius Relyea thence northerly along said Relyea's land to the corner of his original lot thence easterly along the lands once owned by John J Beaver and now owned by Chauncey Brainard and wife to the land of Jane Eltings heirs then Eastwardly along said Jane Elting's land to the place of beginning containing fifty five acres by the same more or less with the appurtenances and all the estate title and interest of the Said party of the first part therein In Witness Whereof the Said part of the first part he hereunto set hand and seal the day and year first above written Sealed & delivered in presence
